We just wanted to give you a reminder that January is Cervical Health Awareness Month!
First, the bad news:
79 Million Americans are infected with HPV, and certain strains of HPV can cause cervical cancer.Also, many of the people infected with HPV do not even know it.
But wait, there’s good news…
You see, Cervical cancer can often be prevented and detected with a regular screening test called a, “Pap Smear,” and follow-up care for if the test detects any abnormal cervical cells.
Also, there is a vaccine to prevent the cancer-causing versions of HPV that is readily available.
