According to new data from the CDC, statistically 1-in-2 black men who have sex with men (MSM) will become infected with HIV in their lifetime. That is 50%, a much higher number than the previously thought 1-in-4 (read on for more information)…
The report discusses how even with HIV infection rates dropping that black men who have sex with men still remain at high risk. The data also reported that 1-in-4 Latino men will potentially be infected with HIV in their lifetime too.
The key to avoiding, “Being a statistic,” is prevention, and making sure you know your status. For example, at Williams and Associates we provide condoms, education, and can test for HIV. Through staying knowledgeable and safe we can work to turn this 1-in-2 statistic into something that only occurred temporarily.
